# Accountable for every line since 2024.

[Website page](https://verlineo.cc/about) · en

This document reflects the public website. Starting rates are not a final quotation. Agreements for the individual project take precedence.

Verlineo was founded on a straightforward premise: that a translation which will be filed, signed or published deserves a different process from one that will be skimmed and forgotten.

The bureau began in 2024 with a simple rule: read an important document in full, translate the concept rather than the isolated word, and flag ambiguity instead of guessing.

We have stayed deliberately small. Twenty staff linguists, a partner network we have used for years, and a rule that no project is assigned to someone without history in its subject. That constrains how much work we can accept, which is the point: capacity has never been the thing our clients were short of.

Today the bureau works in ten languages for clients in law, life sciences, finance, technology and manufacturing across Europe, Asia and the Americas. There is no head office the work routes through: the linguists are where their language is spoken. Most clients arrived on a recommendation, and most of them are still here.

## 2024: The bureau begins

Scoping, translation, editorial review and transparent delivery become one working process.

## 2024: Specialist team

Every project goes to a linguist with experience in its field and a separate reviser.

## 2025: More disciplines

Localisation, medical and technical content were added under the same project controls.

## Today: Ten languages, one standard

Twenty staff linguists, a vetted partner network, and the same rule about who is allowed to touch your file.

## Precision over fluency

A translation that reads beautifully but shifts a meaning has failed. Where the source is ambiguous we render the ambiguity and tell you about it, rather than resolving it on your behalf.

## Discretion as standard

We do not publish client names without permission, we do not use your documents to train anything, and we assume everything is confidential until you tell us otherwise.

## Continuity over scale

The same linguists return to your account year after year. We would rather turn work away than hand your terminology to someone meeting it for the first time.

## Candour about limits

If a deadline cannot be met properly, if a language pair is outside our depth, or if machine translation would genuinely serve you better and cheaper, we say so.

## Team presented on the website

### Anna Volkova

Founder & Managing Director · NL · EN · DE

Founded the bureau in 2024 and oversees legal projects and the team’s work.

### Mikhail Petrov

Head of Quality · DE · ES · EN

Owns the revision process and the audit record, which makes him the person who says no when a deadline can only be met by skipping the second reading. Trained as a chemical engineer before he translated a sentence, and still takes the technical work he can get.

### Ksenia Abramova

Lead Linguist, Legal · RU · EN · FR

Practised commercial law for six years before moving to translation, and reads a contract for what it obliges rather than for what it says. Runs the legal termbase and the query discipline the rest of the bureau now works to.

### Pavel Sokolov

Lead Linguist, Localisation · JA · EN

Came from the product side: eight years shipping software, which is why our localisation work argues with the code as often as with the copy. Responsible for the pseudolocalisation pass that keeps release layouts intact.

## Read by the people who cannot afford an approximation.

> They found an ambiguity in the German draft that our own counsel had read past twice. That is the difference between a translator and a bureau.

General Counsel · France

> Four national submissions, one terminology base, zero queries from the authorities on the translated modules. Our regulatory team no longer builds slack into the timeline.

Head of Regulatory Affairs · Germany

> The same two linguists handle our manuals from one release to the next. New engineers read the Russian documentation and assume it was written that way.

Director of Technical Documentation · Russia
